QUALIFYING FOR COMMISSIONS

There are two steps to qualify to earn your commissions:

Step 1: Activate your Business Center, simply register to become a Yard Sale of America Independent Affiliate by enrolling and pay the required $70 annual Affiliate fee.

Step 2: The company strongly encourages, but does not require you to buy a Yard Sale of America online store in the amount of $100 ($100 CV), $49.95/month ($20 or $30 CV/month for your personal use.

GETTING STARTED

You have a few options when getting started in your Yard Sale of America business. First the only required fee to be a Yard Sale of America Affiliate is a $70 fee. There is no purchase of product necessary; however yard salronly pays commissions on the sale of products.

RULES

Calculating Commissionable Volume (CV), and Commission Payouts: Yard Sale of America pays commissions based on CV of the product, not the gross sale. This is pretty much the industry standard for calculating commissions. This is done for a couple of reasons. First, to keep the compensation plan simple and understandable. Secondly, so a company can add future products and calculate commissions through the same commission model without having to have several percentage payouts for each product. When a company bases the commission payout on CV, then they can pay a set percentage on each level, because that percentage is based on CV, not the profit margin of a product.

Here’s how it typically works:

You take the gross sale of the product and subtract the cost of goods (COG). The COG will include all hard costs associated with getting ready for the market. The figure that is left is the Gross Profit (GP), before commissions. This number is then multiplied by the commission % the company plans on paying in the compensation plan. Most companies pay somewhere between 40% and 50%. At Yard Sale of America, we calculate over ___87__% commission payout to the field, which is an extremely generous payout. This means Yard Sale of America keeps less than __13__% for running the company.
